Penn State defensive end Deion Barnes and tight end Kyle Carter have been named to the FOX Sports Freshman All-America Team.

Barnes was selected as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year after he led the Nittany Lions with 10 tackles for loss, six sacks and three forced fumbles.

Despite missing three games with injuries, Carter was Penn State’s second-leading receiver with 36 catches for 453 yards and two touchdowns. He was voted to the All-Big Ten first team by the conference media and received honorable mention from the coaches.
