Former Wilson standout Pat Zerbe will succeed Michael Zordich as Penn State’s No. 1 fullback when camp opens next month, Nittany Lions coach Bill O’Brien confirmed Wednesday.
“Pat’s had a really good summer,” O’Brien said. “He’s had a really good summer. He stopped by the office the other day and looks to be in really good shape. Hopefully he can come in there and play well for us.”
Zerbe, a senior, has been an outstanding player on special teams for Penn State. He has not carried the ball or caught a pass in his career.
He’s on schedule to graduate in December with a degree in energy business and finance.
