• Six PSU players named to All-Big Ten 1st team

    Penn State wide receiver Allen Robinson, linebacker Michael Mauti and defensive tackle Jordan Hill were named to the All-Big Ten first team by the coaches and media, it was announced Monday night.

    Robinson was honored as the conference’s Wide Receiver of the Year, and Mauti was chosen as the conference’s Linebacker of the Year.

    Three of their teammates also were voted to the first team, either by the coaches or by the media.

    Tight end Kyle Carter was selected to the media first team, and center Matt Stankiewitch and guard John Urschel were named to the coaches first team.

    Linebacker Gerald Hodges, a first-team pick last season, was named to the second team by the coaches and media. Stankiewitch and Urschel were picked to the second team by the media.

    The Big Ten Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year will be announced Tuesday.
